Great Lakes Technical Rescue

About Us

Great Lakes Technical Rescue was established in 2011 as an authorized agency instruction unit for Rescue 3 International, We offer swiftwater awareness and swiftwater rescue to any individual or organization that works on or near water to include private boaters, anglers, and water enthusiasts. Technical rope rescue classes both high angle rescue and low angle rescue are for individuals or organizations that work or play in areas where rope rescue skills are necessary/advisable.

Examples of the types of organizations that we train: fire departments; public safety; emergency first responders; local, state, and federal government/environmental organizations; tribal organizations; private industry; fish and game; river guides; climbers; and university and college students. There really are no exceptions to those that we can train and training to keep yourself safe is an absolute must.

All our training curricula was developed through Rescue 3 International and is NFPA 1670 Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents in the areas of water and rope and 1006 Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications. Utilizing the NFPA standards provides standardization and consistency regarding curriculum. Additionally, third-party validation of skills and competence based on current industry standards and practices is a huge step in reducing individual and organizational liability. All certifications earned through us are recognized both nationally and internationally. Certification is good for three years. Students who successfully complete their class get a certificate and a wallet ID with all the applicable information pertaining to their successfully passing the class.
